Every 2026 World Cup Jersey Ranked: All 48 Teams

The 2026 World Cup finished on 19 July, and the kits outlasted the tournament. You can still buy almost all of them, and the gap between the shirts that will age well and the ones that already look like filler is wider this cycle than it has been in years.

This ranks all 48 teams that played, from 1 to 48. Below you get the scoring model behind those placements, the full ranked table, a closer look at the six kits that defined the cycle, and the places where our order disagrees with the critics.

How We Ranked All 48 Kits

What gets ranked. Each team is ranked on its complete 2026 home-and-away set, not a single shirt. Where one shirt carried the placement, the table names it in the Selected Kit column. This matters because several teams split badly between a strong away kit and a forgettable home shirt, and ranking only one of the two would flatter or punish them unfairly.

How the score works. Every kit is scored out of 10 against four weighted criteria:

Criterion Weight What it measures
Design execution 40% How well the shirt uses its idea, including collar, trim, fit and graphic quality
Cultural storytelling 25% Whether the design ties to something real about the country rather than a template in new colors
Distinctiveness 20% Whether you could identify it at a glance among 47 others
Wearability 15% Whether it works as a shirt you would actually wear off the pitch
Scope note. Scope note: this is our own editorial rubric, applied consistently across all 48 teams. The scores are judgments, not measured data. They are published so you can see exactly what drove each placement and disagree with the weighting if you want to.

Where the ranking is grounded. Four published rankings informed the order, and the top of this list broadly tracks their consensus:

About that 52-kit figure. ColorWay's ranking covers 52 national team kits, which is more than the 48 teams that played. Its sample includes home and away shirts plus both finalists' final-match kits, and it reaches beyond the World Cup field entirely: Costa Rica sits seventh and Venezuela eighth on that list, and neither team qualified. So the 52 is not a count of World Cup kits, and we have not carried its non-qualifying entries into this ranking. Their published cutoff date is not stated.

4 Japan Away Adidas 8.9 Twelve vertical stripes, eleven for the players and a central red one for the wider football family The home shirt is far more ordinary than the away
5 Mexico Home Adidas 8.7 Piedra del Sol imprint licensed directly from Mexico City's National Anthropology Museum Adidas revised it once after a poorly received leak
6 Norway Away Nike 8.5 All-black away with a tonal Viking cross, carried more subtly on the red home Almost no marketing behind it, so it stayed under-seen

The Six Kits That Defined the Cycle

National team kits on mannequins in a tournament lineup
2026 World Cup jerseys hung outdoors on a clothesline

1. France. Nike built the whole kit around the Statue of Liberty, and the details reward a close look: a Metallic Copper trim matching the statue's original pre-patina color, an FFF monogram woven across the shirt, and a modernized polo collar hiding a red placket. It topped both ColorWay Sports and Complex, and ESPN put the away third of all 105 shirts. No other kit this cycle drew that much agreement.

2. Argentina. Look closely at the stripes and you find something cleverer than a standard Albiceleste update. Each blue stripe carries a two-tone gradient referencing all three World Cup-winning shirts, 1978, 1986 and 2022, with 1896 stitched into the collar for the year the federation was founded. Footy Kits Battle called it the second-best kit of the cycle, and ColorWay and Complex both placed it fourth. The full Argentina breakdown covers the away kit's street art influence too.

3. Brazil. Two shirts pulling in opposite directions. The home looks back to 1970, the tournament Brazil won 4-1 over Italy, layering two blues into the traditional yellow and green. The away is Jordan Brand's first national team jersey, a blue and black colorway drawn from a poison dart frog, and it only exists because an original red design got scrapped after fans reacted badly to the leak. ColorWay placed it second, Complex eighth, and we have gone deeper on what makes this Brazil kit stand out in a full guide.

4. Japan. The away kit tells its story in the stripes themselves: twelve vertical bands, eleven for each player on the roster and a central red one for what Adidas calls the Japanese football family. Complex ranked it second overall and called it beautiful regardless of the meaning, and ESPN put it second of 105. If you want the concept, buy the away, because the home shirt is a much quieter piece.

5. Mexico. As co-host, Mexico played the tournament's opening match in a home kit carrying a subtle imprint of the Piedra del Sol, the Aztec sun stone, a motif Adidas licensed directly from Mexico City's National Anthropology Museum. The first leak went down badly enough that Adidas revised the design before release. Footy Kits Battle ranked it first overall and Complex fifth, and there is more on that redesign in our Mexico kit guide.

6. Norway. This one made the list almost entirely on execution. Back at a World Cup for the first time since 1998, Norway went all black on the away with a tonal Viking cross, and carried the same motif more subtly on the red home. ColorWay ranked it third overall, ahead of several teams with far bigger launch budgets, and you will pay less for it than for any other kit in this top six.

Where This Ranking Disagrees With the Critics

Three places, worth stating plainly rather than hiding.

Uruguay. ESPN ranked Uruguay's away shirt first of all 105 kits at the tournament, a tribute to the 1930 winners. We have it 13th, because our unit is the full home-and-away set and Uruguay's powder blue home is as conventional as it has ever been. If you only want the away shirt, treat ESPN's verdict as the better guide.

Türkiye. Footy Kits Battle put the ebru marbling design fourth. Other outlets placed it near the bottom of the field. We have it 15th, which satisfies nobody, because this is the one kit this cycle where the split is the honest answer. Look at it yourself before you buy.

Curaçao and Cape Verde. Both debutants got genuinely custom designs rather than catalogue templates, and both rank higher here than their on-pitch profile suggests. That is the storytelling weight in the rubric doing its job, and if you weight design execution higher than we do, both drop.

How to Pick One to Buy

  1. Decide home or away first. Several teams on this list split hard between the two, Japan, Morocco, Belgium and Uruguay especially. The Selected Kit column tells you which shirt carried the ranking.
  2. Check whether the detail survives at arm's length. Sublimated and tonal graphics, South Korea's tiger and Iran's cheetah among them, look far stronger in product photography than on a person across a room.
  3. Match the fit to the use. Match-spec shirts run slim and tight through the chest and shoulder. Fan-spec shirts sit looser and cost less.
  4. Confirm the size against the specific shirt's chart, not your usual t-shirt size, since cut varies between manufacturers and between the two spec levels.
  5. Buy the debut kits sooner rather than later. Cape Verde, Curaçao and Uzbekistan produced smaller runs than the big federations, and they thin out first.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many teams played in the 2026 World Cup?

48, the first World Cup at this expanded size, up from 32. The United States, Canada and Mexico hosted, and the tournament ran from 11 June to 19 July 2026.

Which brand made the most World Cup 2026 kits?

Adidas, with 14 of the 48 teams. Nike supplied 12 and Puma 11, which left 11 teams with smaller suppliers across ten different brands, up from six such teams in 2022. Jordan Brand counts inside Nike's 12 rather than separately: it is a Nike subsidiary, and it made Brazil's away shirt while Nike made the home.

What was the best-reviewed kit of the 2026 World Cup?

France, on the weight of the published rankings. It took first place with both ColorWay Sports and Complex, and its away shirt placed third in ESPN's 105-kit ranking. No other kit appeared that high on that many independent lists.

Which kit was the most divisive?

Türkiye's ebru marbling design. Footy Kits Battle ranked it fourth overall while other outlets placed it near the bottom of the field, a wider spread than any other shirt this cycle.

Was Germany's 2026 kit its last with Adidas?

Yes. This was the final Adidas-made Germany kit before Nike takes over the national team contract in 2027, closing a partnership that started in 1954. Croatia's kit was a last-of-its-kind too, ending 26 years with Nike before Adidas took over on 1 August 2026.

Where can I buy a jersey from this list?

Availability varies by team. Seven of these teams, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, USA, Mexico, Japan and Colombia, have their own full buying guide on this site with current stock details, linked above wherever that team comes up.
